Beginning the Journey

As someone who was born in the 60's, went to high school in the 80's, and teaching to students born in the 90's, I am woefully unprepared for the technological world they inhabit. As I am trying to adapt to omnipresence of technology, this blog is a documentation of the journey from technological illegal immigrant to a naturalized technological citizen. I cannot hide from technology, so I am going to throw caution to the wind, unpack my fears, and journey to mastering technology to better reach my students in a format they will embrace.

Day Two, per Dr. Z

I started reading Dr. Z reflects yesterday. Then, I read my note that said for me to start at the bottom. I am not sure how far back to go, so I went as far back at October 12, 2009. If I get through all the posts and all the stuff I am learning, I will go back further. For now, I am trying to figure out exactly when I am going to sleep! So far, I have learned about Skyping (10/12), Royalty Free Music (10/12), Life after Death Powerpoint (11/17)--I AM SO GOING TO USE THIS in my class!!!!, The APA Blog (12/7), and Rube Goldberg (3/29). I am so delighted with all of this new information and can visualize how I can use this with my students this fall. I have to finish my research paper and do an independent project yet in July, and now, I am discovering all of this technology that I want to understand and manipulate for my classes at East! I am going to be living in my office at Schindler.--and I am still only as far as March.
