Beginning the Journey

As someone who was born in the 60's, went to high school in the 80's, and teaching to students born in the 90's, I am woefully unprepared for the technological world they inhabit. As I am trying to adapt to omnipresence of technology, this blog is a documentation of the journey from technological illegal immigrant to a naturalized technological citizen. I cannot hide from technology, so I am going to throw caution to the wind, unpack my fears, and journey to mastering technology to better reach my students in a format they will embrace.

Day 13

Today I learned about Odiago (spelling), and will have to investigate further to see how to work it with my Promethean Board. I teach several sections of reading and have to read the same selection out loud each hour. It would be nice to do it once, post it, and then replay it each successive hour. It would also enable me to monitor students' attention better as I could walk around the room while they are listening and check for comprehension cues, see if they are writing down notes, and attentive. I could be my own second set of eyes.
